Hi Andyroo

Nice to see you posting again !

First of all, let me first say that I really love that you post your videos here. In your age, it's natural that you will get some comments, that others might not get, but do not take those as negative comments, they are just comments to help you on further, ok?

Now, for this performance, let me give you some advice:

First of all, keep praticing your card handling. In your age, it's natrual that you have smaller hands than the rest of us old-guys (hey, I am not that old... am I?). So, handling a deck of card, can be kind of card. But this comes in time. Try not to rest on a false lie that your age makes it hard to handle the cards. Keep practicing and you will handle the cards even more smooth, very soon. Practice my friend !

Secondly, try to get all of the action your are doing, within the video frame. For all we know, you could have changed the cards to red backs, when they were outside of the video frame.

Thirdly, try to be more convincing when you put the cards into the deck, and maybe (without me knowing the secrets of this routine), convince us that there are no dupes, and that the cards really did travel from the middle to the top.

Finally, practice practice practice. Cards are fun, and are not hard to handle at all, it just takes some hours, days, weeks, months, years... (get my drift?). Relax when you do your magic, do not stress, be calm, and someday, everything comes more natural to you.

Have a nice day dude :D

That was actually quite a smooth trick - congratulations!

The only think I can see that needs improvement is your general card handling - at some points it looked like you were having trouble holding the cards, for example.

I would recommend that you buy a DVD to give you a hand with this, and to teach you some more great tricks. As I have recommended before - (:)) - why not try Oz Pearlman's Born to Perform Card Magic. It's a great DVD, and will teach you most everything you need to know to do some great card magic.

Not a bad attempt at all, andy! It's nice to see you've stepped away from the video editing of your other posts!

Like Rune and Katrie said - the skill and ease of handling will come with time and practice. The best way to do it, is carry a deck everywhere you go. Play with the cards whenever your hands are free. Don't just practice moves and sleights - practice handling, dealing, spreads, fans - everything. Get to know every inch of your decks, every little nuance. It will reward you greatly in the long run.

As for the effect itself -

One thing I noticed, which is TOTALLY minor, but worth checking into - as it raises a few questions. When you first show the J/Q/K on the table, you immediately mention placing the FOUR cards into the deck. I realize you just misspoke, but a slip like that (even unintentional) will set off bells in a spectators' head.

I agree that you shouldn't move the cards out of frame. I don't think you did it intentionally - but aside from posting videos for US to see, you should watch them as well, and figure out what aspects of an effect need work. Try to keep everything on screen at all times.

One final note - watch your get-ready when you pick up the cards before the color change. The King was very noticeable. You also need to be careful when lifting multiples off the pack. Your fingers got a bit loose at points and you flashed.

Still - it's a solid effort. Your technique will only get better as you keep going, and with a strong base, already - you're well on your way. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Keep it up!!!

Thanks guys :D I’m working to try and improve my card handling
and Hawk, I am actually able to perform this trick in front of 1 to 2 people. But occasionally I slip up and a glimpse of a red card is all it takes to mess up the whole ellusion.

How about adding a magical move (maybe riffling the deck) just to make the spectators believe that you did something. This may draw attention away from the suspicion some may have (rcarlsen  ) that duplicate cards may be being used.
