Problems with the Vernet Boon Writer?

Postby LoveKey1988 » May 28th, '12, 14:25

Hey guys,

I just tought I will start 13 steps to Mentalism to try each steps tough I never tought I will try a s***i g****k.

I have bought Vernet Boon Writer ...unfortunately I mistakely ordered the one with the grease marker instead of pencil lead which I needed.

Of course I will buy another but what I am having problems with is that the boon does not stay stuck to my finger at all. What material do you guys use to make the boon stay stuck to your thumb when writing?

Thank you very much.

Regards, Marian

PS: Just wanted to update you guys that Richard Ostelind pm'ed me on the magic cafe and recommended me the double sided carpet tape. He is a top bloke tough everybody knows that already.

I use a boon all the time and have never had a problem with Blu Tack.

That Blue tuck does not stick at all on my thumb...it won't even stay on it's own...I can't even talk about trying to write with it. I was adviced to try Rubber cement

Perhaps you would do better with the TT writer, which in my opinion is by far the easiest to operate. The boon is a most hideous and tricky little contraption to get the hang of.

I personally prefer the Boon to other forms of Sw***i Gi*****s. I find it best to use a petit pois pea sized amount of Blu tac, which I massage between my finger and thumb for a minute of so before a performance. Boon's take awhile to get used to but I think they are easier to use than n**l or TT's.

Hope this helps,

The China Marker/Grease Pen Lead is actually more to your advantage than what was realized in Corinda's time. The majority of the people working from the stage these days use the grease pen in that is shows up better and for many, it's easier to actually write with.

I use the full TT style but I never do try to write War & Peace with one; 90% of the routines I do require little more than a check mark or X. . . maybe a number or letter but not entire words; that's what Pocket Writing is for. . .

You might want to look into the Vernet B.U.G writer (Boon Ultra-Grip). It has the advantage of being a boon while feeling more comfortable and more stable while it is being used.

Oh for the good old days when a 'medium' could write a letter, under the table, with her big toe!
