David Nixon Magic Cooking Cards

Postby midge25 » Jun 3rd, '12, 10:41

I have just come back from Devon.

Whilst in an Antique shop, I came across David Nixon Magic cooking cards, now there was no magic in these it was a set of cooking recipes.

I didn't know he did a cook book, does anyone have any further information, just curious really?

My guess would be that the woman whose name appears as well was the real author. The people who marketed them wanted to put out cards with recipes and they marketing people thought "cards = magician" and so David Nixon put his name to them. If I am right, that's like someone asking Paul Daniels to put his name to a "magic" product in the 1980s or Derren Brown advertising a card with "ESP": http://www.carpages.co.uk/nissan/nissan ... _03_04.asp

Derren doesn't even drive (at least, he didn't back then, in spite of what that article says).
