Leaving My Job

Postby Xagan » Jun 5th, '12, 13:49

Hey everyone,

I have finally made the decision to quit my job, I've been unhappy in it for too long now. I shall be moving back to Watford (at my parents' place) with the intent of finding another job as soon as possible. It's not so simple for me though, I have no GCSEs (long story), so it's going to be an uphill struggle to get going again.

I just thought I would let you all know, plus it's nice to get it off my chest, I would really appreciate the support.

Thanks,
Xagan.

Good luck matey.... Just left my job back in March. I worked there for over 16 years, I never felt more alive.. 8) Remember there are lots of job agencies out there that specialize in all types of work. Good luck. Garry

Nearly nine years ago, I left my 20 year career in computing. It was the best thing I ever did.

Good luck. And as someone whom was made redundant, it's better to leave from your own accord than to have it foistered upon you.

best of luck. I worked at a bank for five years and hated every minute of it. My life became miserable I was always on edge and upset with everybody. It is no way to live. The day I left was liberating, my view of the world changed. I didn't have a back up plan and it was a hard fight back into the workforce. In the end my wife and I agree that leaving was the best thing.

I don't know your situation and there may be some hard days ahead but just keep the faith. It will turn around.

Thanks everyone for your replies, much appreciated. I guess when I'm finished there, it wouldn't be a bad time to try out starting magic as a career. It is something that I still absolutely love doing, I keep telling myself that I wouldn't be able to do it professionally, but maybe I should give it a shot

Go for it - but if you do, start telling yourself that you will be able to do it professionally. :D Then once you've realised that, treat it as a business rather than a hobby, and take it seriously. Also, make sure you have a back-up plan in case it doesn't work out how you hoped.

And keep the receipts. Everything you buy for the business can be knocked off your eventual tax bill, so this is vitally important.
