This was the closest I could find. Alternatively you could buy a large sponge cube and cut them into dragon shapes yourself.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Stuart did the sponge Dragon on me a couple of years ago at the Manchester meet and I thought it was brilliant! I keep meaning to get one but never do. They're great fun.

Isn't Hippity Hoppity Rabbits the one where the rabbits are painted flat cut-outs on plywood or thick card rather than 3D items made of sponge? If so, how about buying a set featuring Rabbits but use a desk top publishing or image editing program to print out the various coloured dragons onto thick card and use those with the covers supplied with Rabbits?

That is what I understood the hippity hop rabbits to be too. If you are making your own and don't have any image editing software drop me a pm and I will do them for you with the colours that you need.

That's a great offer Craigie, even more proof that TM has some very generous members!

My mistake I always thought it was a sponge rabbit routine.

Sometimes the names of effects get swapped around or misused so there's bound to be some confusion. One of my colleagues thought that the 'Run Rabbit Run' effect was also called Hippity Hoppity Rabbits.

Thanks for the offer craigie. Thats so kind of you
The trouble is
A) all the rabbits are cut to shape, meaning Id have to find a long eared dragon
B) I want it as a Xmas prezzie for my wife (she does dragon magic shows) So I'm being fussy and dont want something adapted.
That being said, your offer was very kind and much appresheated....apreseated apre......... very kind.
So, can someone recomend a prop maker who could make me a set?

The image I posted came from Paul Howard Magic and he makes such props - see http://www.professional-magic.co.uk/children_magic.html

I believe Micky Hades in Canada has the full sized plans for both of those popular kiddie bits. . . not the little ones but the full stage size which are more than two feet tall (I think the bunnies are close to 30")Kirkham has a set he made with a Christmas theme that I absolutely loved, but the Dragon idea could prove a big hit. Oh! The covers for the Dragons should be Shield belonging to a Knight or small Castles. . .

I'm thinking you could have some fun with a Dragon Egg as well . . . a variant to the old Ball & Vase (very period, btw) but using a large egg. . . I'd couple it with an actual Egg Bag routine, to make it more unique.

If you have a cooperative wench available, you might look at doing the old Vanishing Garter Strap. . . it's period, funny and more adult but clean enough for a family group. While costly, another "illusion" that would work is the Cross Bow version of shooting a ribbon through a lady. . . they are very rare; I believe Stienmeyer has an up-dated variation to it but know for fact that Owens Magic has made a few over the years. . . I don't believe they've hit that $10,000.00 + price range but probably will be close to $8k. It will certainly prove an excellent PR bit however.

If you haven't yet done so, look up Bill Palmer, he made a career of Ren Fair Wizardry here in the States and I believe Germany as well. I'm certain he would have more than a few ideas for you and might even have some inventory he'd consider selling to the right person. He used to be a moderator at the Cafe but you can reach him here http://www.billpalmer.com/ -- tell him I sent you his way.
