Greetings from StalyVegas

Hi and greetings from StalyVegas or Stalybridge as it's also known.

I have always been interested in magic but my interest was rekindled by the recent series Secret World Of Magic on SKY TV.

I have bought a few self working tricks, a book on card tricks called Easy card magic, some sponge balls and a sponge ball DVD.

Although I have no illusions about ever working as a magician I would like to be able to entertain freinds and family especially my 4 year old son!
I bought the sponge balls and DVD after a magician entertained me and my Son with some close up magic including sponge ball tricks. Whilst the DVD is quite good it does not include instruction on how make a ball apear in a spectators hand (something which I found quite a powerful effect! even more than my 4 year old!)

I don't expect anyone to tell me how this works but if you could reccomend any book or DVD which includes this I would be grateful.

I am also considering buying Dan Turcotte's complete DVD package, does anyone familiar with this think it is suitable for beginners?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave and welcome! Dan Turcotte does some great downloads on sponge ball magic so you can start studying them almost immediately. We did a Review here a while back so if you try the Search function above, you should find more details - best of luck!

Hello and welcome to TM.

I haven't had any experience with sponge balls so can't help there, but like Mandrake said if you use the search function I'm sure it will find something of use for you.

:D

Welcome to TM Dave if you are after a good routine with sponge balls then can i point you in the direction of Daryl in his Fooler Doolers (part 1) DVD he teaches a great 2 ball routine as well as some rope magic and other things. He teaches it in a style that anyone could learn and it might give you some ideas on the presentation of effects as well.

Hi Dave and welcome.

There a few things more satisfying that entertaining your own kids with some good magic and sponges and ropes are a great starting point

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
