Hello and welcome to TM

A good DVD is OZ Pearlmans Born to perform >>> I think its fantastic and will give you a good starting point.

I'm sure some of the more experienced guys and gals will be able to offer you a wider choice of good books and DVDs

Enjoy :D

Hi and welcome to TM. Not sure you will have a lot of luck with Welsh speakers. I've got Welsh blood in me with both my parents born in Cardif, but I'm afraid I can't speak the language.

DVDs already suggested esp the Oz pearlman one should be a great start.

Chroesawa at TalkMagic. Gobeithia feddi 'ch amsera acha hyn forums.

Depending on your skill level (you say you 'dabble'), and your tolerance for lunacy, check out the 45 DVD by Jay Sankey.

It teaches some very visual impromptu stuff, and is excellent for beginners (So far, my 2 nephews, a friend's son, and my brother have all learned many things from this: the classic pass, vanishes, TT work, bill switches, false cuts).

Mainly it's impromptu, and for those "Sankey Haters" it's all without voice—done in total silence... mainly because "Magic traverses all language barriers and is a visual art". So, even us Welsh are included ;)

I agree with the Oz Pearlman stuff, very good indeed.

If you are more experienced, DVDs by Michael Ammar are superb, and give a good 'all rounder' set of effects (Rubber bands, cards etc.).

Let us know a bit more about what sort of performances you like, and we'll help further... i.e. are you just a 'pub tricks for mates' type of dabbler, or are you 'getting into magic in an addictive way' etc.

See you around the forums!

I'm going to have to get myself a job in the church of Wales before too long - think the Welsh are becoming the majority nation on the site. How many did you say there were :-)

Welcome to TM,

Vic
