Flying Fraggles?

Postby Flash » Aug 14th, '12, 18:30

Yes you heard me right, flying fraggles.

I normally don't ask my friends to vote on stuff for me, but there is always an exception to the rule. A few weeks ago I saw that the Jim Henson Company were holding a contest to design an image to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Fraggle Rock. I put my thinking cap on, got out my balloon pump and (working with my father) came up with an image that I'm pretty proud of. It draws its inspiration from one of my favorite pieces of art which is painted on the West Bank Barrier in Palestine by Banksy, depicting a girl being carried away by balloons. The work of Jim Henson always lifted my spirits so I felt this was an appropriate idea to start from.

Anywho the image is what it is and I hope you like it. I would be so happy if I won this I think my head would seriously explode. Just follow my link to see what I'm yabbering on about.

The voting starts tomorrow, but if you click the "support Rupert" button on the right hand side of the page it'll remind you to pop back and cast your vote.

I really do appreciate all your help!

That's a seriously excellent work of art, truly something to be held in the highest esteem. Extremely well done, I'll certainly be voting tomorrow!

Thanks old bean... I was going to offer the spare key to the TM drinks cabinet to anyone who voted, but after all this time I'm sure you've changed the locks (or drunk it dry)!

Just a day and a half left of voting and I'm still in the top three, which is bleeding amazing for a itinerant clown from Ipswich.

If you haven't yet had a look at the competition please take the time to do so by following the link above and clicking 'all' in the top right corner. There are some great entries and lots of effort has gone into all of them. If you like mine please vote for it by clicking the button on the right hand side of my page. Thanks all!
