Choose Your Queen with no wallet?

Postby amnost » Aug 28th, '12, 06:58

I saw someone do Choose Your Queen (http://www.magictricks.com/choose-your-queen.html) without the use of a card wallet. They were simply holding 4 cards, asked someone which queen (suit and color) they wanted, and then spread the cards out to reveal that the card named by the spectator was face up. When it is turned over, it is found to have a different color and pattern back than the other cards. Finally the other three cards are turned over and found to be all blank. How is this done without a card wallet, which every magic store online is showing as included because it is needed for the Choose Your Queen trick? What do I buy to do this trick -- could I just buy the Choose Your Queen set linked above and not use the wallet somehow?

Thanks!

Hello, welcome to talkmagic.
Not quite sure what you mean when you talk about the wallet being "needed". Isn't the plastic wallet in question just to hold the cards as a packet trick?

Choose your queen is done with sleight of hand moves, the plastic wallet isn't gimmicked as Soveda says.

This sounds to me like a half of Twisted Sister. As is said above the wallet is irrelevant and is only used for carrying the cards. I have a slightly risque version where the three cards which are not the queen are undressed ladies.

This is an item i picked up from Mike Danata. It is good for all men dos, stag parties etc but otherwise obviously fairly limitted. There is a hunk version to show to ladies as well I believe.
