At the risk of being pedantic, Corgi registrations are no longer valid, these days it's GasSafe - sorry!

There are various types of Membership.
For instance--Country Membership for those who live 40 miles or more from London.
Fees not so high

As it was mentioned I'm a member of the Pentacle Club in cambridge and we're currently in our mid-year break. We have a sort of gap in the summer season, mostly because many of our professional members do a large amount of childrens shows and they are more in demand during the summer months.

The Pentacle club is a good mix of performers, from amateurs like myself to professionals in many different branches of magic an mentalism (and a couple of guys who also do Punch and Judy on the side). We have frequent lectures, an annual competition (I came 5th out of 6 contenders this year) and lots of fun :)

We're a friendly bunch, so if you want to come along I'd recommend contacting the secretary, Alan Maskell, who can tell you when we next meet.

Thanks a lot for that Stacy! I've sent an e-mail so hopefully I'll get a reply. Would really love to come along. Can you tell me if there is any eligibility criteria/test etc?

The Pentacle Club was founded in1919. Originally for Cambridge University students. Then from 1963 they admitted members from outside the University.
It has had a number of famous magicians as members: Amongst them: Roger Crosthwaite (very expert card technician) Eric Widger, Claud Perry, Alex Elmsley & John Davenport.

Even if you can't get to Club Nights, and I don't go very often, it's worth belonging (IMHO) just to be able to say you're a member. It was a lifelong ambition for me (and getting to AIMC was the icing on the cake). Some lectures and other theatre events are now being live streamed to members and some are also stored on the members' area of the website. There's an excellent monthly magazine (with a pdf option) and back numbers are also on the website, which is searchable.
