But what is misdirection?! According to Gary Kurtz "Misdirection is the direction of attention." This is in my opinion one of the best definitions of misdirection. That is, not so much to distract, but rather direct it. In the opinion of Al Schneider'' The purpose of misdirection is directing the audience's attention or conceal false assumptions they have made.'' You could say that misdirection is what leads the mind of viewers to turn away the method, and approaching the effect.

Some points to consider and studying:
Body Language - Allways make the moves when you relax never in a moment of tension
Makes them laugh - While they are laughing you can hide an elephant under a glass that see nothing (good luck finding the cup)
Makes them a question - and here we can divide them into two types, open and closed response. The closed response are those in which only just yes or no answer, the open-response are those who have to think in response. While they think, even for seconds, may be looking but see nothing.
