anyone own and use the blackwidow?

Postby seymourmagic » Oct 14th, '12, 20:38

i was thinking about possibly getting this item but all the reviews ive seen are from people who just got it and hadnt put any time into it yet,
was hoping to hear from someone who has owned one awhile and their perspective about it.

Are you talking about this?

If so... TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS, ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

When it was first released a lot of people did not feel it was practical and was awkward to use. My issue with it was that you are better off learning sleight of hands skills, i did get a chance to try one, thought it was ok but i always stuck to other, more practical ways of doing things.

Hi.. I did see one of these a while back at my magic club,it was very good but the young guy who was using it , never put much practice into the routine, and you could see how it was done... But its a very nice bit of kit though..Personally I would get the M5 myself, very similar.. Regards Garry 8)

Hiya, I used to own one of these but found it fairly impractical to use. Wearing it for any extended period is rather uncomfortable (and risky, if you plan to carry on performing while wearing it), but the deal breaker for me was that you are advised on the DVD to wear an oversized jacket (notice how big Darryl's jacket is in the trailer?). The Black Widow itself is a nice bit of kit, almost like a Bond-esque gadget, but the limits of what you can actually achieve with it, coupled with it's impracticality made this a no-no for me personally.

definately having second thoughts on purchasing the black widow, but can you do with sleights what it can do? can you change a popcorn kernel into puffed corn in thier hands? I know sleights can do amazing things equally amazing as the fore mentioned effect. one of my favorites is the torn and restored card
but i was liking the idea of it in their hands, like i do the shrinking coin with my bat it shrinks in their hands. I love it
