Postby seymourmagic » Oct 15th, '12, 15:02

I am alone in the magic world in a real life setting, i have my magical online friends but in life i have never met another magician or been to any magic gatherings,
there are no local magic shops i do all my learning and buying online. if any of you know of any magic related gatherings in or near ohio please inform me of such an event. thank you sincerely

http://www.allmagic.com has, apart from tons tricks and other stuff, a diary of events and happenings in the world of magic, especially in the US - well worth checking out.

I think you just missed the MagiFest gathering in Columbus

What part of Ohio are you in?

There's a good group of guys in the Dayton area (IBM) as well as Cincinnati. Michael Jay, one of the member here, could probably fill you in when it comes to clubs and events in the northern part of the state, I've not lived there in years (I grew up in Springfield)

If you're close to the PA side of the state look into Pittsburgh, there's a decent group of people in that region, several of which are heavy hitters.

The Toledo side gives you Michigan and from there the home of Abbott's Magic in Colin. They have an annual convention that's gone on for 75 or so years now, that happens in around Labor Day if I recall correctly.
