I still have an original ITR and BOSS unit and have never had the rubber bands break. . . they're at least 20 some years old. In other words, you're doing something wrong; given how many questions you've posted in the past 24-hours I'm betting you go impatient and more than likely wound the unit too tight.

The Tarantula is a delicate instrument, I'm betting you got to aggressive with the unit, which is again, why it broke. I point this out in that you're not likely to be content with anything on the market because you don't work with the devices in the manner you are supposed to -- they're delicate, handle with care!

Tarantula is a decent device and well made as is the Spider Pen but you must respect the tool if you want them to last. Personally, I prefer the older unit though I have used something like the Spider Pen for certain bits that I do. I also have a rather heavy duty electric system for moving heavier objects and alternate effects but again, we're talking about a very delicate piece of equipment, especially given that electronics are involved.

Maybe you have 10 thumbs and just too clumsy to work with IT systems . . . that's one reason I only use it on rare occasions. It's also why certain effects I do are based on very old technology. . . fishing line and a simple weight that pulls the thread down my pant leg, nothing can get botched and it's quite dependable.

I'm told i have more patience than most doctors, i was very new to magic when i bought the reels one broke cause i sat on it the other with the bands i dunno maybe it was in the sun too long and the bands rotted as for the trantula i have a suspicion that my nephew had weakened the switch when he was w/o permission playing with it. and as for " you're not likely to be content with anything on the market because you don't work with the devices in the manner you are supposed to" just the opposite i have never purchased an effect i wasnt happy with ,how many can say that i wonder? i do much research before i purchase just as i practice much before i entertain. as for posting lots in 24 hrs i was bored and wanted to discuss effevts with other people this is in no way a reflection of inpatience merely looking to discuss things with like minded people.
