Collapsing chair?

Postby kevmundo » Nov 7th, '12, 01:37

At my local magic club I was fortunate enough to watch someone use a wooden folding chair that appeared to collapse at will (can't give away the method). Anyhow, I absolutely loved it!! So much so that I want one as I think I can fit it into a chair prediction type effect. The rub is that I can't find any for sale anywhere??? Does anybody anywhere please please please know of anywhere where I could buy such a thing???

Was it Martin Cox?

He has been using this for years.

I think Davenports are pretty good at collapsable wooden effects. Not sure about chairs though.

Why didn't you just ask JezO at the time?

In fact, find his website and just ask him. It's not like you're going to eat his business by having the same prop (unless you're going to start doing encyclopaedia book tests and stapler based russian roulette for 5 year olds during panto season).

If he got it in the states you could probably do a lot worse than asking at Denny & Lee's magic shop ( http://dennymagic.com ). I went to a whole bunch of magic shops around Vegas and theirs was the most professional and best stocked.

Ta!!!! I'll give them a bell. I also want to get a decent smoke machine. One that will completely envelop someone? I'll bore you with why at the next meeting!! And on a personal note, I think 5 year olds will love my staple gun routine!!!! :D
