Lisa Vega - Spoon Bend

Postby gnoff » Jul 11th, '05, 23:18

ok, ive been bending metal for a while now, its prob my favorite magic effect, especially things like the break, which freaks everybody out. i recently saw an episode of T.H.E.M. (totally hidden extreme magic), which is a mtv style show where magicians perform various tricks. one lady on the show Lisa Vega, did a metal bend where she took a straight spoon in her hands, holding it horizontal, suspended above her hand with her thumb and pointer finger. the spoon then bends down in full view, so that it is folded in half at the point she was holding it. i thought it might be gimmiked, but she passes it out for inspection afterwards.

any ideas on how to do (or where to buy) this trick.

dont tell me how to do it if you know, i dont want exposure, but maby a dvd has it or somithing, i know PK silverware dosent.

Max somerset also performs a similar effect in Max Magic, as the bartender. It was also on another hidden camera magic show, with Max on. I think this is close to what you are looking for, although I'm not sure if it can be inspected without any trickery.

EDIT: Forgot link.

hmmm... it says in the description "the gimmik is self contained"... and when i go to various websites the trick is shown with the exact same spoon...

im assuming that the trick is a gimmiked spoon, so it cannot be done impromptu, has anyone had experience with this magic trick before?
