Repeatable stack?

Postby kevmundo » Nov 30th, '12, 12:59

Having learnt the BCS I'm looking for a stacked deck effect that is instantly repeatable (thus, the order of the stack is not altered). The main problem with stacked deck effects is that the really powerfull ones tend to leave the deck in a state of disarray. Im going through the encyclopedia of card tricks but my head is hurting! All ideas gratefully received.

The stack I use is Osterlinds Breakthrough card system. I've got some wonderful stage and parlour effects for the stack. However, I wanted to know if there are any stack effects that could be used in a strolling/table hopping environment, which would have an instant reset - ie, the stack remains in tact?

I've always used Si Stebbins.

Simon Aronson's stack can be used to perform a number of routines in a row without breaking up the order of the cards. The routines can be found in his book, 'Try The Impossible' http://www.amazon.com/Try-The-Impossibl ... B002YN7RLQ

Thanks all!

Pickman is that a memorised deck effect or can it be used with any stack? I have Aronson's book the Aronson approach. Some of the stuff in there is only suitable for memorised decks.

I think that the majority of tricks using the 'stay' stack are instantly repeatable but they are mostly spell a card and poker deals.

As Tomo said: Si Stebbins

But if you want a completely mixed-up looking stack I thoroughly recommend Doug Dyment's DAO stack. That's what I use.

Kevmundo, it is a memorised stack but it can be used as a regular stack as well. I think there are around 25 non memory routines in the book, quite a few of them can be routined to follow one another with no destruction of the stack but you do have to use the Aronson stack.

I know it is slightly off-topic, but you could think about a semi-stacked stripper deck (Tomo might know a few things about the topic)... Currently I'm really satisfied about how this combination makes Roberto Giobbi's "Muscle Reading" trick (found in Card College Lighter) almost instantly repeatable. I am currently still working on a refinement (I have a small issue to overcome yet), but I absolutely love what I got so far. As a bonus, it lets me practice my MR skills...

But what effect are you trying to achieve. Or are you just wanting to use a stack for stacks sake?
