The Devil's Radio

We've been at it again. Not a straightforward "ghost box". This one has a big secret...

I do believe that this item has been recently very thoroughly road tested by well known professionals at a prestige gig and it passed with flying colours thus gaining the ultimate seal of approval. A write up in The Mystic Menagerie is on the horizon, anyone in this area of our art should save up their Christmas money and order one pronto!

Yup, it even had a woman who claimed to never cry blubbing at the doleful nature of the voice.

I want to make something clear to people looking at this, and thinking of buying it to pop into their magic shows.

DONT

This is an incredible piece , that can create strong emotions in the right hands. If you do card tricks, sponge balls, and coin stuff as part of your normal show, find something else.

Its also underpriced.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

Fear not. Thanks to a certain someone, everyone ordering a Devil's Radio gets performance notes emailed to them to read while waiting for delivery.

Good advice Dale, and Tomo is there any way to set up the radio so the voice says 'The queen of hearts'?

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Sorry my mistake, I meant 'The Queen of Cups.'

Well, the idea behind EVP is that they need interpreting. The voices are created from stored waveforms corresponding to the tiniest parts of speech, and sequenced as needed with intonation being added on the fly. I can specifically sequence individual word-like sounds, but please understand that this is something that audiences interpret and come up with their own meanings. And boy, do they come up with meanings!

The thing is, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of those asking for card revelations aren't actually joking.

How about a faint spooky voice that says "I like big butts and I cannot lie..."

On a more serious note, I have been considering looking at a spiritualist act. How sturdy it the radio? Could you give it a bit of a slap about or let it fall off a table without breaking anything important?

It's solid state, but treat it as you would any radio and try not to drop it!

Two words that shouldn't be seen together... spiritualist and act .

this sits fine in a ghost hunt, or a full evening of psychic experiments, but it has no place in an "act".

Its not a trick, its an emotion trigger, a mood setter, and to your audience, proof that there is an afterlife.
