elusive rabbits/ hipperty hopperty rabbits

Postby devilstick Peat » Dec 12th, '12, 15:03

I just received a handmade version with dragons instead of rabbits. I like the dragons, size etc but the working is diffrent.
instead of magnets, the colour change is done by lifting them inside the box (hard to discribe without giving anything away).
Should I be happy with this, or am i right in thinking its £85 ill spent.

You're talking about the method I grew up with. . . should be a thumb hole on the back of one of the covers.

Size?

Are they the smaller one's such as are used in a home or the stage size (about 18-24 inches tall)?

I've had both, always preferred the bigger ones though.

I also made a version that uses live rabbits. . . not certain I could do that with Dragons though

Size and everything else is great, just not sure about the workings. Having said that, its a birthday prezzie for someone next month, so i suppose i will just have to wait till then and see if they are happy with it.
feel a lot better now youve told me yours was like that
thank you

Sold that version for years. I don't remember a thumb hole, but I do remember a lip. I can't remember if they were made by Supreme magic or Mak magic. Either way there was nothing wrong with them. Often they worked a little easier than the magnectic version because there was no resistance what so ever. Love the dragon idea.

Mine had a lip too. I Bought it used from the House of Magic in Stourbridge and have had no problems with it. I have had this one for about 12 years and it works fine. That said, I am looking to buy the new version soon as it does sound interesting. The dragons sound great and original though.Best of luck with it.

 You guys may be correct, I might have been thinking of another effect  Once I read those two posts it dawned on me that I was confusing things.
