I'm working on an effect and I'm trying to get an idea of the common knowledge in relation to star signs. Please fill out this quick questionnaire. Please don't just look these answers up I really need to get an idea of what's more obscure and what's more well known and under what conditions. If you don't know any of the answers just write unknown. I realize a magic forum might not be the best place to do this but most normal people don't appreciate weird questionnaires.

I have an interest in star signs - Although it is worth noting that this statement is pretty meaningless. It doesn't tell you whether I believe in astrology (I don't). Neither does it tell you whether I read my horoscope regularly (I don't) and/or where I read it (online/newspaper etc.)

"Facts" about star signs? Probably should read "information" or "opinions"

And who does the "I've" refer to? The wording suggests yourself (Jean) but you haven't offered any facts/information so, yes, you've probably missed some things.

And another thing....
Questions, as a rule, should end with a question mark.

I would answer exactly the same as Lawrence and I'm a Pisces. Have you got 'dream signs?' It's probably nothing to do with what you're trying to achieve but it's a method of divining someone's star sign. I won't go into detail but a number of questions/statements are made/asked. Clearly a lot of research has gone into this effect and may give you a bit of a leg up. Pm me I'd you need more info. If you search it on TM you'll see a review. You'll also get to read me and Craig browning having a hissy fit at each other which should provide you with some much needed Christmas entertainment since there's nowt on telly!!

I was young and hadn't learnt not to bite!! I think it's worth checking out if you haven't got it. It's also very cheap on lybrary!

I have found that the general public is "torn" when it comes to Star/Sun & Moon Signs (NOTICE: There's a difference) in that the typical human being barely knows their own Zodiac and maybe one of the birthstones tied to the month of birth vs. the Astrological stone. . . again, there's a difference.

People that are "into it" can get downright ridiculous with what they know, including meteors and a plethora of other elements so as to insure themselves a significant number of "outs" -- explanations as to why this or that didn't happen (then again, they forget about Free Will and Karmic Influences).

The General Layman MIGHT know what the local Paper has to say or what's posted to their home or facebook page.

The semi-interested and curious would respond to your questions (see below)

My star sign is called -- I am Cusped Virgo-Libra though the Virgo tends to be more dominant in my character traits. As one Astrologer put it, this means I'm a creative pain in the A$$.

My star signs elements are . . . depending on the source; Air & Water or Water & Earth. . . I frequently see it as the latter in that my life has been rather muddy.

I guess I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to such things. But on the other hand I know alot about other stuff. That is the balance in me coming out.

Sure and my response follows Craig making me feel even more like an idiot.

No one's an idiot for not knowing this stuff, understandably if you think it's bunk or you're just not interested, you have no reason to learn it.

Matt I'm not trying to prove anything, this is not a critique or challenge of anyone's interests, beliefs or lack of either. What I'm working on is a star sign revelation, which is a mish mash of lot's of other peoples work, which makes it hard to explain without giving away methods and ideas I didn't come up with, so unfortunately I have to keep things vague. All I'm trying to do with this is work out what facts about star signs are statistically most obscure.

Also Sorry if some of the questions were unclear and the spelling even more atrocious than usual I had quite a bit to drink.

The second question 'my star sign is....' is meant to mean 'The animal my star sign is...' but since not all star signs are animals I thought that might be confusing.

Really? I thought sun signs and star signs were the same thing (I know nothing about moon signs). Also my studies say that Virgo's element is Earth and Libra's is Air, you seem to think differently. Could you expand on those two bits?
I'm not saying this to challenge you or say you're wrong, it's very likely either I'm wrong or the information is flexible or based on what country we're from. I've noticed there seems to be some ambiguity with star signs, with many different websites and books stating slightly different start and end dates, as well as different planets and birthstones, but so far the elements have remained pretty consistent.

What I meant by that is that all star signs have:
an element
an 'animal'
a birthstone
a planet
and a compatible star sign

I was asking if there was anything else associated with star signs that I missed.

Thanks Kev, yes I've read dreamsigns. Star sign revelations are my kryptonite, even when I know I don't have the money I've just got to buy them all.

Good to see we're all learning something here, I know my star sign of Capricorn is symbolised by a goat and I've been accused of acting it more than once!
