Well I've booked the weekend off work at least.
Still unsure whether or not I'm actually going but at least I'm sorted work wise if I do decide on it

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

I stayed here 2 years ago and it was good, not far from the Ruskin either

I am at the Central Travelodge this year because I can get a deal there. It is also handy for the Winter gardens and not too far from the Ruskin but I wouldn't recommend the breakfast, it is over priced and of dubious quality. There are a couple of good cafes just around the corner though that do a good fry up.

My problem is always where to eat at night. Blackpool off season doesn't offer much choice. Anyone got any favourites?

The website isn't very useful for information on what the ticket gives you... Does the one at 90 get you the shows and the lectures? I manage to get a b an b next to the winter gardens fri/sat £28 both nights. I dont plan on spending much time in the room so im happy if its a hell hole :)

The Gold card gets you in to everything, shows, dealer hall(s), lectures, the after show party on Sunday night - the lot!

OK. Time booked off work and stock ordered to make up another batch of ILC decks, hopefully sales will fund a possible Blackpool visit!
If I can't make the full weekend I'll try and get over for the Friday or Saturday night at the Ruskin

The website seems to be very much geared to return customers, and not much practical data for newbies. I've emailed asking but also think I should ask here:

What's the format of the days, the nights?
The website says "the Winter Gardens" but I'm picking up that people drink in other places?
What the hell is "Magic Speed Dating"!!?
What are the classic first time attendee mistakes and how can I avoid them?

What's the format of the days, the nights?
Lectures during the day, shows at night, Ruskin afterwards.

The website says "the Winter Gardens" but I'm picking up that people drink in other places?
There are three bars in the Winter Gardens as well as a cafeteria but The Ruskin is the usual place after the shows.

What the hell is "Magic Speed Dating"!!?
No idea!

What are the classic first time attendee mistakes and how can I avoid them?
Spending too much in the Dealer Hall , especially on the first day.
Trying to see every lecture which is nigh on impossible, just pick the ones you want to see most of all
Oversleeping and missing the first lectures of the day - sometimes they clash with hotel breakfast times!
