Yes, I believe you've mentioned this affection for him, in passing, once or twice before.

Being serious for a moment (only happens once a year so make the most of it) does Stephen actually do much magic these days? He seems to be presenter on just about every Saturday morning kids' show and does a great job - but not much magic.
(Although that nice young lady who dresses up as a waitress affects me in a very magical way .......)

Noticed that he also presented a tea time show last weekend about amusing video clips of animals so I also suspect that he's not doing much magic at the moment.

I've only seen him perform one or two tricks and they appeared to be mainly self workers. Is he a particularly accomplished magician?

I think he helped Pete Firman and Ali with one of their TV series - I don't think it was the recent one where they toured the world, it was the one before that when they worked with the little guy amongst others. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I'm sure Stephen Mulhern was a consultant on that show. Also, he did a kids magic show on TV for CITV - much similar to Dominic Wood's original efforts on CBBC (I think).

I see he's presenting the Harry Potter thing from Edinburgh Castle. At least that's sort of associated with magic! :D

And on that note, I did a bit of touring round the shops today and I noticed that my favourite discount bookstore, The Works, were offering the new HP book at £12.99 instead of the full £16.99. Unfortunately, every other place (including HMV Records!) were selling it at £11.99! :D

That's more like it! The promotional hype this time round is incredible and I have to applaud the marketing of the new book. Way over the top but very successful!
(One of these days I might get round to trying to read one of these novels!)

I read the first couple of pages of one that I bought my sister last year and, though I enjoyed the films these are childrens books and I would get very annoyed with the writing style after not very many chapters.

For Fantasy I would always go fo Terry Pratchett, pure genius, though he seems to have slowed down his rate of release a little recently.

Absolutely! I grew up on Pratchett, his style of writing is superb. He has slowed down recently, BUT on the plus side he's JUST released a new DW book! And I do believe there's another coming out in a month or 2?

Back on topic *ahem*...

How about David Blaine? *ducks and hides*

Hehe...
