My pet Boris

Postby Alec Burns » Feb 28th, '13, 18:36

Hi all.

Well as the title suggests, this is all about 'My pet Boris'. If you're not familiar with the effect then please click this link. http://youtu.be/6HMml7oJBC4

Now, although it says available for iPhone it actually isn't. Apple in their infinite wisdom have told the developer that the app isn't useful enough and that it wouldn't perform very well in the App Store. The developer has started a Facebook page and is asking people to 'Like' the page so that he can use the numbers as evidence for Apple to see how many are interested.

I have no idea of how many 'Likes' will be enough but if we spread the word we could be enjoying the brilliant fun of this app.

The page can be found by performing a search on FaceBook and typing 'Magic Spider - My pet Boris'

Thanks everyone.

Alec

At Blackpool it was said that Boris is only available on Android at the moment but an iphone app would follow 'shortly'.

Thanks mandrake. :D

I emailed the developer yesterday and he says that at the moment they arnt allowing the app. This is such a shame. So... If everyone could 'Like' that page it may help. I'd love to have this effect. It's right up my street.

That looks like a really fun effect. Strange that Apple won't allow it when you think about some of the totally rubbish apps that are out there.

Exactly my thoughts! To be honest I would never use Boris but I'll happily go and 'like' it as there are so many others who will make great use of it.

Some people have also suggested that something a little less scary could be a good thing also. A caterpillar that when you turn your hand has transformed into a butterfly.

It's a very nice idea. (But I would use the scary spider  )

I shall be more than happy to like this page if for no reason other than for the fact that the creator is obviously a fan of the Who.

I have happily "Liked" this (I think, I am not that Facebook savvy!).

I also would never use this, I didn't like the way it was demmed at Blackpool, a young Chinese girl was pulled out of the audience to be the victim and she was genuinely frightened by it. People in this country don't always realise that elsewhere in the world spiders are not just unpleasant creepy crawlies they are a threat to life.

Argh I want it! It really does look like great fun.

I would suggest to the specs friends to film the effect so they have a lasting memory.

This is epic. Shall I trade my Iphone? To be fair a agree I'm not a fan of the scare factor I actually stopped doing the web ( never did it in pro shows) for that reason but this is a brilliant bit of fun in the right place.

'zackly!!! The Web is great but should be reserved for the right audience and in the right place - the same applies to Boris.

That is exactly my point, this is why I "liked" it but wouldn't use it

After having a play with this it is epic. Very well made and very clever.

I also like the idea of the cockroach I feel this dampens the scare factor but with the same effect.

I very well made fun app that I will use. (in the right place) lol :D top marks to Ian.
