Magic on TV tonight (Monday)

Postby Daza XIII » Jul 18th, '05, 07:40

UKTV Documentary channel (564 on Sky ?) 9:00 tonight. Two one hour shows on magic. Only caught the last couple of seconds of the trailer so I’ve not much of an idea of what this is but it may be worth a look.

It's the excellent BBC History of Magic series which was shown on BBC2 last year. It's on every night this week at 9pm (or 10pm on UK Docs +1) and then the whole series is repeated on Saturday night from 6pm (or 7pm). I'll have to watch the nightly shows 'cos Mrs M has pointed out that we're due to go to a Wedding next Saturday. (The Wedding of a friend of hers from work who I've never met and am therefore not exactly excited about! )

Why is there never anything on the 5 'normal' channels :(?

Well, there was DB (Derren that is) so I can't complain :)...

Actually, I have it on good authority that Derren is working right now on a "New six part series for Channel Four together with a 60 minute special". I am totally stoked, huge DB fan =o)

Uh...we saw that...that was what I was talking about.

I think your "good authority" is out of date Symtal :)...

I missed the run on BBC2 first time around so it was nice to have the opportunity to see it this time.

I thought that it was a fascinating look back through the history of magic and what I loved was the input by some of the all time greats of both past and present times.

Worth watching!

PS. Loved the Max Maven bit in the Tower of London. Can anyone recommend anything similar that's on the market?

Sorry. I meant NEW new six part series for Channel Four together with a 60 minute special...

This information was gleaned direct from his management, which I assume to be pretty good authority =oP
