I am with Lee Smith on this and I'll tell you why.
Nothing has to be prepped in advance. Everything can be borrowed. The coin can be put in the bottle and removed, and in the end everything can be handed back to the spectator.
This leaves only your routine and there are so many variations using the above method, and can be as involved or simple as you wish.
Honestly I have not looked at every method with every nuance. They must all have advantages and disadvantages. Most of the ones I thought would look really cool turned out to be very finnicky and a pain in the *rse. And in the end the spectators are just as amazed regardless. Cap, pen, coin. Doesn't really matter to the spectator. Most of the caps in bottles you need to make in advance. And really not a problem you can make a bunch at a time and use them as give aways. Dary's cap in bottle for example. You just walk away leaving the cap in the bottle, Makes a nice momento for the spectator, which they will eventually throw away.
The disadvantage to the classic folding coin is that you don't leave the coin in the bottle. You don't have that option. But if you borrow the coin you want to give it back anyway so there is no reason to leave it there.
Just my thoughts. Whichever one you choose please take your time and get a good presentation down. This has become a classic effect and really is a good working magicians effect and it deserves the time and effort you put into it. And it won't let you down.
have fun.
