Very true Raven.. Sadly people say horrible things in the heat of the moment, not realizing the impact it can have on people.. Also forums, not just magic forums do have a lot of straight talking people that speak there minds, on their chosen subject, which sometimes get taken the wrong way.. Maybe this could have been the nail on this poor chaps coffin.... But to be fair, reading the link, it seemed he may have already been suffering some type of mental illness ?? Lets hope we can learn from this tragic episode.. Our life's are just too short as it is..

The anonymity created by computer mediated communication can make for some pretty nasty things said on line. In this case however, I think it was a genuine mistake by that person on the magic caff forum. I'm sure they feel very guilty.

Its a tremendously sad thing. I'm sure some of us, if not most of us, have felt the despair described by that individual at some time or another. Its just a shame he couldn't make it through, nor find someone else to help pull him through. Places such as The Samaritans are there for those times, and should be made the most of.

That is very sad, but some times as I have learned a person may show a completely "normal" personality to others while keeping their feelings to them selves until it is too late, I have had this happen to me, my best friends son, very sucessful in his field, how ever as we found out later he felt that he did not accomplish much in his life, if only he had come to one of us, and there were many in his life that never saw or even expected any thing shuch as this, his actions took all of us by complete supprise, a very sad turn of events indeed, how ever there were no signs or even hints, even coservations were "normal", sometimes there just is no way of knowing unless you find a way to "crack" their shell, but when they protray everything as good and "normal" there is simply no way to interveen.
