I think loaded dice are actually quite rare. Most 'loaded' dice these days actually just gimmicked so all the spots always add up to a certain number. You can never have them examined which is always a problem. I like the method of glueing dice together and shaking them in a cup. But again you can't have things examined. It's all down to the effect I guess. It depends whether you're using the dice to force a number, or whether you need to know the number after the die have been cast??

Fake casino dice can be expensive if you can find them; expect to pay around 20-30 dollars a cube, depending on what type you are going for. Tops are the most common, but you will pay a premium for ones with a casino stamp.

I got a few sets from Jason England, so he might be a place to start, if he has any left.

I've seen loaded casino type dice, red and semi translucent, on sale in many places, even joke shops. They always roll to a predetermined total and there's usually a set of non gaffed dice to switch in and out. Try http://www.cards4magic.co.uk and see if they still do them.

Make you own. Please note I've never tried this and have no idea if it works, or the dangers involved in doing this.

You may like to get in touch with the good fellows at cards4magic, they do stock gaff dice. They're a mightily helpful bunch and if they haven't got exactly what you seek they may be able to get them for you .

I've been collecting gaffs for almost 25 years. I have some of kc card co. Plenty from the late junior hinson. I also collected from current builders but it is a lost craft/talent. Maybe 2 or 3 places left in the country. Cards4magic doesn't have really good work but they have ok prices and fast shipping, ocasionally something good pops up on ebay but rarely, Tangiers loaded dice on ebay actually had some of the best work made today but they never had anything ready made so its essentially a custom order with them that usually gets delivered within a week, they were always worth the wait.
Never buy from big-slick or relo or from mississippi, relo and bigslick did not accept a refund request after sending me a pair of garbage, and the gentlemen from mississippi used a sharpie to color the spots.
And if you are looking for any cheap pair of trick dice just about any website will do.

High quality craftsmanship or what?!!! :D

The usual 'range' of gaffed dice seems to be limited to numbered ones where one number appears twice or those weighted sets which are supposed to give you double sixes every time - or something like that. Perhaps there's a market for someone to take blank dies (available from Amazon) and use a Dremmel or similar to make misnumbered dice to order, possibly even adding weight (or a small neo) to one side at the same time if required? Any good DIY merchants out there that could undertake such work if required? I'd like a die which has fives on all sides but, having failed to find any commercially, may have to nip down to B&Q and buy a Dremmel!

High quality craftsmanship is almost absolete in todays world. "Marion and co" in florida and "tangiers loaded dice" were my best suppliers..marion and co was really expensive however and no longer make gaffed dice, and Tangiers loaded dice may not make tops or all 5s like you mentioned..even if they do i suggest buying them at spencers instead. I would only recommened their weight since its the only type I have actually purchased from them..and the work is hands down the best and of high quality. - BJ

Now I am left with an image of some redneck sitting in the Bayou eating crawfish and colouring dice with a sharpie, fiddles playing in the background.
