Hi,
I am Tam McLaughlin, 35 and from Glasgow.
I have been into magic for about 8 years with a 2 year break while our 23 month year old boy/girls twins were making their start in the world.

I have mainly been into cards and close up for those years but over ther last few months, I am starting to take magic more seriously and want to move from someone who does tricks to a "magical performer".

I have also done several kids shows over the last few years and now working on my kids show which has taken a lot of work as any childrens entertainer will know.

Thanks.
They will be 2 on the 23rd of this month.
It is only now the hard work is starting but still loads of fun.
We just got them toddler beds so now they have the roam of the room as
they are out of their cots and just taking a lot longer to get to sleep.

Twins are just brilliant to have. It is great to see the contrasting personalities (unless of course they are ID twins). Adam and Hannah are very close to one another and always play together. We are lucky to have less problems with 2 than some of our friends have had with 1 baby.

One thing you will notice is the comments from passers when they see twins in the pram. We had Adam dressed in blue and Hannah dressed in pink and got so many comments such as:

Person1: "ohh twins - is it 2 girls/boys?"

Person2: "ohhh, twins, are they identical"
Me: "No, it's a boy and a girl"
Person2 "yes but are they identical?"
Me: "No, they can only be identical if they are of the same sex"
Person2 "Are you sure? I know a set of boy/girls twins who are identical"
Person3 "It wouldn't be me/how do you cope/they must be difficult/"
person4 "Who is the cheeky one?/

Then you have the really nice people who stop you and give them money and tell you how lucky you are and tell you how beautiful your babies are.

We were out shopping at the weekend and a lady in a shop said "Aww, your kids a lovely, they don't look that far apart, what is the age difference between them?" I said "28 minutes".
I said it in the nicest possible way with a laugh so that she wasn't offended. People always get a suprise when they reaise they are twins because they are like chalk and cheese.

However, this story is better from the tamba (twins and multiple births) forum:

Whilst shopping in Sainsburys the other day with my identical 16 month old daughters, the cashier was doing the "Ohhhh aren't they lovely" speech.

Then she said "What did you call them?" I replied "Chloe & Lucy". The cashier then looked at me and said "Oh that's nice that you have given them different names - they will have their own individuality". Now I did look at her again and yes she was being serious. I was dumb struck.... did she really think I would call them both Chloe or both Lucy just because they were identical twins!!!!!! LOL
