Got a phone call this afternoon telling me I'd won a competition and I'd won magic DVD's and books, exciting right? Except I've not entered any competition and I've never heard of the company, Alfa magic. When I asked who they were they he claimed to be affiliated to Ellusionist. If I wasn't suspicious already that tipped me over the edge, don't think I've ever bought an ellusionist effect and they most certainly wouldn't have my number. They asked for my e-mail address so they could send me details on how to claim my prizes, lucky me!!! The guy on the phone sounded about 12 and full of it. No way this was legit, still I couldn't figure out what the game was. Why would they be asking for me e-mail address? They could easily find this on my web site (and of course if I had ever signed up for anything with them I would have certainly given my e-mail originally). I assumed it was a con of some sort but had no idea what. I gave them an e-mail address I use for these very purposes, one I wont object to being hacked etc as it's full of junk, porn and adverts to make various parts of my bigger and harder :D
Then I got this e-mail:
Hi there !

We were just talking on the phone,

Congrats on winning the contest !

Just go to http://***.com" target="_blank" target="_blank, click 'get access' and enter your name / email into the form - takes less than 60 seconds!

Once done go to http://***.com/jobs/performances/the-magic-of-reality/" target="_blank" target="_blank where you can download DVD's for 100% free!

We look forward to sending you more freebies in the future and maybe even selling some of your own products (on auto-pilot) on the site - earning you money whilst you sleep!

Thanks man :)

So it looks like it's some dopey kid trying to sell his cr@p on the internet. Where's my free books and DVD's I won (downloads don't count as DVD's dummy)? Not sure why he tried to drum up business by telling lies but I'm fairly sure it's not going to get him very far.
Here's a public message to Alfie, that minute I spent to you on the phone was a minute I could have spent watching the cricket or lying in my garden, thats one minute of my life you owe me and if I should ever run into you I will find ways to extract it from you. Oh, and lets not forget the books and DVD's you owe me, this could prove very costly young man. Me, being a cantankerous old man don't take kindly to simpletons wasting my time, look forward to seeing you some time Alfie!!

I have had him on magic trick reviews, on facebook hawking his wares. I have made it clear that if he does it again, I will ban him.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

There was a rash of these eejits a few years ago mainly selling yet another unworkable levitation effect crudely put together with impossible promises of instant fame and glory. History certainly repeats itself.....
