I have rather short but fat fingers and thumbs as some may call sausage fingers, or my brother at least.
Well my question is what TT would you recommend, I want a nice fit but the most realistic look.

Under those circumstances it's probably best to visit a bricks and mortar shop, or at least a convention where there are dealers in attendance, and check out their stock, try on a few TTs and see which you think is best. I find the Vernet longer TT is a good fit, a good skin tone match (yes, I know it's not all that important but it make me happy OK?!) and takes a load much easier and with more security than the smaller versions. The downside is that sometimes the smaller load becomes almost unreachable so I also keep a smaller TT ready just in case!

Just keep in mind. If you don't want somebody to see something don't show it to them. So if you don't want them to see the TT then don't show it to them. If you don't show it to them it doesn't matter if it is a close match or not. Remember it is not an invisible prop.

That being said the only way to find one that is going to make you happy is to try them.

Its impossible to recommend a particular one without actually seeing how it fits.

I personally use the standard Vernet (which is hard) for most things. You could try one of these (available from probably all dealers), and if its too small/big it will give us a gauge for what to recommend.

There are two main types of tip available - soft and hard - and I recommend you buy both. Each has different advantages/disadvantages depending on what they are used for.

If you can make it to an actual shop that would be better as you can try various styles.
For a proper fit it should be able to go slightly past the knuckle when empty, and to, but not over the knuckle when it contains something.

Choose one that is a close match for your skin colour. Magicians are divided on this opinion and there are a few threads on here where you can read the arguments from both sides and make up your own mind where you stand.

buy a large hard plastic one, put it in a cup, add boiling water.
this softens the plastic.
Then stretch the softened tip over a broom handle.

Take care , as you are obviously dealing with hot liquids.
