card and sharpie routine

Postby Anjorno » Jul 31st, '13, 18:09

Ive been playing about and came up with a nice routine using a sharpie and a pack of cards, I will go through the effect and all I ask is how does the routine sound.
Would you add anything too it or do you have any tips,

Effect-
You show both of the logos on either side of a sharpie marker.
Then you wipe the logo off each side one at a time now showing a blank sharpie.
you shake the pen to return it to normal
you proceed by putting the pen in your pocket and removing a deck of cards
you shuffle the deck then cut the cards at any point the spectator stops u at.
they remove and remember the card.
they return the card to deck.
you put the cards away and get the pen back out
you show both sides of the pen as normal then ask for the cards name
the card is named then u tell everyone to watch the pen and you give it a shake and the logo as gone and the cards name is in it place
pen can then be handed out for inspection.

Maybe so but how much does this cost? I was inspired by "remarkable" yes, I wasn't saying it hasn't but what I've done is combined the "remarkable" trick with my own method (which may well be how its actually done I don't know) and made it into my own routine with my patter and the vanishing sharpie logo trick combined. Also total cost, price of a deck of cards and two sharpies.

As I say I think it is great that you have come up with your own routine.

Well done.

Good of you to come up with your own method (possibly your own method) indepentantly, and combined it with your own routine.

What exactly is your goal? If you just want advice and tips then I would need to see a performance because written down the routine is fine the way it is.

If you are thinking of releasing the effect you run the risk of being labeled as somebody who just rips off others because your effect, in writting sounds pretty much the same as Richard Saunders routine with maybe a whisper of a difference.

And yes this idea is nothing new, Richard however added a few elements and gave a whole new presentation and handling to the effect which made it his own.
