Question about stealing from a CTW

Postby Flood » Aug 6th, '13, 19:53

Hi guys have a question and I'm anxious to get some input from fellow magi

So, I have the triple threat wallet which is a CTW effect but I'm looking to use it for a steal.Basically the routine involves business cards. What I have is a stack of business cards in my right hand in a mechanics grip (I'm a lefty so bear with me) with my thumb securing the wallet over them.In my left hand I have a single business card ready to put it into the compartment of the wallet. As I put the single card into the compartment of the wallet and button it up,I'm simultaneously loading in onto the stack of cards in my right hand, essentially stealing it.

Now I have a gut feeling that because the cards are behind the wallet that the spectators might suspect the steal. It is all done in a flash with no mumbling or jumbling.Maybe because I know what I'm doing that it feels obvious but I'm just looking for some input from perhaps someone who does stealing with CTW.

Any feedback would be appreciated

Because you have a feeling that the spectators might be suspicious, then the spectators are going to be suspicious. Get rid of the feeling and you won't be drawing attention to it. Relax, have fun do what you do and observe the reactions. If they figure it out, then try something different, if they don't have a clue then you are good to go.

The only way to ever really know and learn this type of stuff is to try.
