Interesting you should bring this up because I will sometimes perform Jon Allen's Executive Decision (the version with only a small number of cards) and other times I will perform Galaxy from Art of Astonishment with a full deck - I always find that I get a much stronger reaction with the full deck version because it seems much more impossible.
Granted it is not suitable for all situations and it is more streamlined (and therefore slightly quicker I guess) than the Paul Curry original but I personally think that correctly guessing the colours of say a dozen cards, although impressive with a strong presentation, is less impressive and less impossible than seperating an entire deck.
Given the choice I would always opt for the full deck version.
Now that I think about it, maybe it is because they are two separate effects who knows?
