£1 Shells

Postby support » May 2nd, '03, 19:46

If you are refering to actual £1 shells we will be happy to sell those.
If you are refering to brass disks which turn into pounds, we have these and are about to sell them.

Best regards
Laurence

It was mentioned on the old forum but bears repeating that the pound shell in coin unique will work with a raven so you get two tricks for the price of one!

Only £12.

Easy.

Considering a £1 coin only costs £1, paying £12 for one seems like £11 over the odds to me? Plus the fact, the coin is hollow, and not inspectable, being a shell and all.

Why not use post 1992 copper coins, like a 2p? They are attracted to your Raven without shimming, are larger and more visual, and can be borrowed! Plus, they are fully inspectable, as they are not gimmicked in any way... i.e. they are attracted by default, not design.

I've posted this startling discovery elsewhere (simultaneous with Mandrake).

Ah, I mean what you see!

If you're after revealing items, a shell is a necessity. I was misunderstanding your need for a pound to use with the Raven... I thought you wanted to just plain vanish a coin!

And talking of price, a guy I know at my local garage can shell a coin in less than a minute on a machine lathe... and he's done them for me for no charge in the past. If you can find a machine shop, it's well worth asking them there. Putting a metal shim in is quite easy to do yourself, you just need some thin steel sheet which can be cut with scissors and superglued in.

I'm always after a bargain, and although the coins I've had done are not up to Gibson's standard, they work fine. And cost less.

But that's obviously only if you've got a friendly machine shop locally

 i have a shimmed shell from andy

its well contsructed and i think lawrence should investigate further about this comercial opertunity.

andy i would be interested in a shell that can hold a 5p and a penny, does not have to be magnetic or shimmed.

mail me if you can help cheers jason.
