A point which as been raised several times before. There's no need to 'fool' a magician/purchaser into buying something which turns out to be not as shown. The third thing is to let magicians get an accurate idea of how the trick actually looks in performance. Yes, you might realise that there was a pass there, if you saw the whole thing in one take, but the spectator doesn't even see it in an actual performance because of the misdirection structured into the routine.
