Stephen Hobb's Technical Toolbox

Postby FTHO » Jan 13th, '14, 18:05

I wasn't sure where to post this, so miscellaneous seemed like a good choice!

I found this website today: http://www.stephenhobbstechnicaltoolbox.com/

Essentially Stephen is teaching some of his own material by uploading a video every week. You can see the full table of contents on his web page, and the first 3 weeks are already available.

I watched the first 3 weeks worth today and each video contains a surprising amount of detail. Stephen's instruction is very clear. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far, have added the site to my favorites, and I am eagerly awaiting the next installment. Tonight however, I am going to play with the technique taught in week 1.

It is totally free, you just need to answer a password.

My favorite magic books are The Collected Works of Elmsley, every time I open to a random page I find myself inspired. It seems that Stephen has an affinity for the same magician, as the first three weeks all relate to this wonderful magician.

Check it out!

I'm surprised by how easy the The Ribbon-Spread Switch Out is.
I had some trouble with the turnover splitting at the jogged card, the solution was to just jog it slightly less than half way (I was jogging too far), and now it just works...
Really fun. Even just performing it for myself over and over again.
