The Effect
You show a necklace made up of 50 'poppit' beads which can be handed out and examined. You or the spec can break the necklace at any point and put back together again.
The spec then thinks of a number and the magician then pulls the necklace apart to show a long string of beads, before handing the necklace back to the spectator.
You then ask the spec to pull on the ends and the necklace breaks at the exact same number of beads, as the number that was chosen by the spec.
Instant reset and and the effect works with any number that's less than the 50 (beads).

Review
What attracted me to this necklace was that it was different. It's like an ID but with beads, simple yet cunningly clever.
Whilst the beads are made of nothing more than hard plastic, it's the effect rather than the material that the necklace is made from that is important.
You'll be performing with the necklace within ten minutes and I've shown it about 30 times today and nobody has had a clue how it works. The reactions are worth the price but like most tricks, you need to present it well.
The instructions limit the spec to selecting a number between 1 and 25 but there's an improved method where any number between 1 and 50 can be selected. Unfortunately this isn't included by the manufacturer (Vernetmagic) but the supplier (Mike Danata) will provide this as it's his workaround.
Although the necklace is perfectly suited to a mentalism type routine, there are a number of ways that you could present this, limited only by your imagination. I've got hold of an old necklace case that just adds that bit more to the presentation and there could be a wealth of stories that you can make up and use (I was left this necklace in my Aun'ts will etc.).
Overall
I loved this when I saw it and the CUPS set in immediately.
10/10 for the method
8/10 for the material and quality
6/10 for the instructions but fortunately you don't need them past learning the secret
