I have only been a spasmodic user of this site since an unfortunate incident with another member some years ago, but I did make a couple of posts recently on a subject of some interest to me.

What shocked me was the sarcastic vitriol which poured back from one individual, even after a warning from Mandrake, and the post was rightly locked.

I fobbed it off with a light hearted post but perhaps should have remained quiet, in the knowledge that such sarcastic and aggressive responses usually emanate from a position of weakness and a lack of logical argument.

I found the whole thing a rather sad and sobering experience, and has made me wonder if I shall bother to post here ever again.

There was more than just one set of posts which gave cause for concern. Some of the posts made were seen to be deliberately provocative and, despite requests to change tack, they continued thus generating equally provocative posts in reply. A little common sense in that thread would have saved it from being locked. As to future visits, each and every member has the right to make that decision for themselves but we always welcome informed and positive contributions.
