To look nice? Like a lot of other flourishes.

It looks pretty good to me Mark but it does seem like it doesn't do much to the deck...

Just had a quick look at this and it seems as though it would be fairly easy to reverse the original top card in the centre of the deck therefore giving the cut some purpose.

You would have to tip the hands slightly so that the front edges don't flash. Begin the cut as you did with the first two packets and as you rotate the third one round and it is parallel with the first two, the fingers of the left hand can reach across and pull the original top card flush with the bottom of the left hand packet as the right completes the rotation.
You should now have one card reversed in the centre of the deck.

Hope I have explained this well enough for you to understand. Try it with a deck and I am sure you will see what I mean.

I like it. It's a nice slick cut... a bit like a Charlier, but with a secondary cut.

The deck seems to get cut twice, from A-B-C order to C-B-A order?

In other words, it's a 'proper' cut.

It seems too short to be a 'flourish'.

Very nice, though. :D

If i invented it I will call it the glimpse cut for this reason:

During the cut when you rotate the last packt to the bottom it turns face up right out in the open and you can tell what the bottom card on the deck will be at the end of the flourishe. It's great to use with like key cards and such.

And yet they can see the face up card if you are right next to them yet they dont even know it will be on the bottom of the deck.

I posted this topic so that if I claimed the cut I wouldnt get in trouble. But I think I invented it.
