I've seen a number of reviews of this and also watched the trailer on IMDB. I'll be giving it a miss.

From conversations with other magicians locally this morning I reckon you won't be the only one! I'll watch it just for the sheer heck of it and, if appropriate, post a few words about it here. It's tough being a Modster at tmes :(

According to TVguide.com:

the two-night event is not necessarily an accurate portrayal of the magician's life. Based on the controversial biography Houdini: A Mind in Chains (not so coincidentally penned by the Houdini screenwriter's father), the series draws heavily on Bernard C. Meyer's psychoanalytical theories of Houdini and presents his possible work as an American spy as pure fact.

I have a book by William Kalush and Larry Sloman entitled The Secret Life of Houdini which also focuses on Houdini's alleged side life as a spy so the bio referred to above may not be totally unique.

I for one will watch it, and enjoy shouting at the inaccuracies on the screen.:) We must remember that this is a dramatic representation of the myth, and not a historical document of the man behind it. Which would in truth be dry and fusty.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....
