Perferred dollar sized coin (copper or Chinese)

Postby BrianO » Dec 29th, '14, 11:25

Hi All,

I have a dollar sized copper coin from ellusionist which I use for my spellbound routine. I do like the coin, it feels like a coin, sounds like a coin however I find it a little bit on the thick side and I find it a bit too shiney.

I would be interested in what you use as I am wanting to try out something different. I am particularly interested in a chinese style coin but I am not sold on a painted one which is all I am currently finding.

I use coins similar to this one:

Sorry for the eBay link but I can't find a better illustration
There seem to be quite a few Qing dynasty coins out there for reasonable prices.

Oh just to add, they are thinner than contemporary coinage. Probably a third of the thickness of the Ellusionist con you have and the edges are smooth. They slide nicely against each other and I use them for a coins across routine.
