Can you believe that I don't think I've bought anything magical at all this year?!

I bought an Ultimate Airborne soda can version at Blackpool which was rather disappointing but have since bought the bottle version which works well. Best purchase - Auotmata DVD without a doubt!!

The worst?
Well thankfull I haven't had any bad experiences this year!

I do not think I have had a worst. But best would be Paul Voodini's Cold Reading the third way.

that said feeling much more upbeat for next year having looked up what's coming for me, someone's year is going to be a bad one for them as there going to be the focus of my world next year, lots to reveal in my whistle blower persona that's taken precedence over my jollier children's entertainer, anybody who saw Steven Georges video on sky /Facebook /twitter will know what I'm on about.
if you don't just ignore me you won't be affected by the upcoming public storm heading too Westminster, everyone have a great year 2015 is going to be the year of the whistle blower I can feel it....... oh and hail hydra 9whistle blower in joke). :D :D

Same here :)

I can't really think of any bad purchases, although to be honest, I haven't bought much this year.
I've just started reading, "PS I love you" by Steve Shufton - review to follow sometime soon (when I get round to finishing it) .... so it may, or may not, end up in one of the bad/worse categories .....

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Best for me was The Ghost by Paul Nardini. Worst was, and I know I am going out on a limb here was SAW V1.1. The reason was because I wanted an identical looking one to the previous SAW. My issue is that it is slightly different to the advertised picture and also comes with the A motif in the bottom corner. I will use it though as it is a great wallet but it won't be for the reason I really wanted it for.

The worst.... Well, I've certainly bought some stuff that's next to useless in 2014!

Bentley, the self bending paperclip, would probably have been the most rubbish... Were it not for the release of ...

Metalism: The Self Bending Paperclip by Menny Lindenfeld! Not only is it a not a genuine paperclip, its not self bending... The video demo is so close up because were the camera pulled back a little further, the method would be exposed! I can't really say just how unrecommended this is!!!

===============

As for the best... That's a tough one! I've also bought some great stuff! I'm a huge fan of Imagination Coins... And Automata is also excellent! And also Peter Turners Freeform Mentalism DVDs... I think these three get my votes for products of the year! :)

Bently? Really? I loved Bently but then again I really don't want my effects to work 60 percent of the time. But that 30%? Well those folks think I'm a God of some sort. Yeah, can't say Bently was a great buy and I was really disapointed. Not with the method but the fact that it is so hit and miss. This is one of those effects that should have been givin away in an article in the Linking Ring or another magic magazine. But to charge for an effect that doesn't work all the time through no fault of the performer? That is just wrong. And I know there will be people telling me that it is the performer but it's not. I've not met one person who can say that this works every time.

I purchased it because I saw a good friend perform it on facebook and it was brilliant. After I purchased it I asked him for a few tips to get it working 100% of the time. Well he laughed for 10 minutes straight and then told me he would never use it live, to unrealiable. And it took about a dozen takes to get it to work in front of the camera. But he agreed that when it does work it sends chills.

Really! :)

I loved the idea of grabbing a paperclip and making it bend... And yes, when this does work, its great, but it really is unreliable... Both in how much it'll bend, and even if it'll bend at all!!!

Its discussed here, and I've posted my reasons for not using it in the most positive way I can...

ftopic54822.php?start=15"

But I'm pleased you're getting some good use from it :) ... Just wish that I could!!!

For paper clip bending I learnt Streblers version (on penguin magic somewhere) which, I feel, is very practical. I've used it for years and it works on any metal paperclip which aren't like the Bently ones. Just 10 second set up and you are golden.
