Black and white

Postby deano0010 » Nov 6th, '15, 20:38

Hi Guys,

One of my Christmas events is a black and white theme I thought just dress, but the client has asked me to incorporate some magic within this theme. Have any of you guys got any ideas to include black and white to some close up magic.

I look forward to your replies and ideas please

Regards

Steve

Well, magic wands are traditionally black and white and dice are often black and white (or white and black!) as are dominos so things to do with those items? If you're producing anything as a special giveaway how about a box of Black Magic Chocolates?

Knights tour looks interesting Barry but both of my black and white gigs are walkabout one with tables afterwards but Knights tour is more stage, I may have a look into it for my cabaret act though. I'm putting a few different effects into this at the moment.

Cheers

What about oil and water with black and white pieces of card?
Or out of this world if you can get black and white card with the same colour back.

Alternatively do either of the above with photographs - separate the black and white photos from the colour photos.

Also - "What's black, white and red all over?" - A newspaper - go into a T&R newspaper or a newspaper test.

And the many "Black, white and red all over could be useful intro to other kind of tricks too.

Also, instead of sponge bunnies do sponge penguins or sponge zebras or sponge dalmatians.
Is there a magic colouring book version of 101 dalmatians?

Black and white is obviously about opposites.
So possibly many tricks could be themed to discuss opposites.

You could demonstrate the differences between "black magic" and "white magic" perhaps?

The link I tried (and failed) to share above was to Bruce Cervon's book "The Black and White Trick and Other Assorted Mysteries".
Its an ebook for $12.95. I used to have a physical copy years ago, it came with pieces of black and white card and there was a routine of various magical things happening to the cards. I can't remember it very well.

How about adapting existing coin/casino chip magic by using black and white draughts/checkers?

I'm pretty sure that you can get hold of black and white sponge balls...

Can't remember their names, but there are plenty of (at least almost) black and white bicycle cards...
