What's the magic content?

The magic content was mostly exposure, at least in the early episodes. And Alan Davies is really irritating. It's not bad as a who/how dunnit, but the solutions are really far-fetched.

I'll stick to Poirot on catch-up TV for my murder/mystery crime fix then.
Talking of which, Bob Bernard was in a recent episode (The Veiled Lady S2 Ep2) as a jewellery shop owner being robbed. He may only have had two words....."STOP THIEF" - but he made the most of delivering them with his usual enthusiasm. I imagine he was (quite rightly) a bit peeved that his name didn't appear within the final credits!
Then in The Disappearance of Mr Davenheim (S2 Ep5) Poirot demonstrated his magic talents, not only by solving the crime from his apartment; but by performing tricks to stimulate 'the little grey cells'. Credit went to Patrick Page as the Magic Consultant; although I've read that David Suchet actually performed the tricks himself. The TT handling was pretty appalling - but I could say this about the majority of magicians that I've seen handle one over the years - it's always been one of my pet peeves. However, the torn and restored paper was well executed - as no doubt was the murderer.
