Description
This a diabolical sandwich routine... The magician shows a regular deck of cards, from which he takes two black kings... The kings are 'card locators'. They are placed together and rubber-banded to 'magician proof' them.

The deck is shuffled, and the spectator selects any card - no forcing. The card is signed and returned fairly to the centre of the deck.

Next, the two kings are placed face-up on the deck. In a split second, the signed selection appears face down between the two face-up kings, and is handed out as a keepsake!

Review
Some of you may already have sandwich effects, as do I. I've always been a believer in simplicity, though, and previously, most of the routines I've used to find a card in this way involve either gimmicked cards or bizarre passes and cuts to get the cards where I want them.

This, however, is so simple and neat that it only requires two sleights, which are relatively easy to perform - even for a beginner.

The handling is swift, clean and well-paced, and the final revelation happens so visually and quickly that it looks like real magic.

Overall
Peter Nardi is definitely an unsung hero. His effects are diabolically simple in principle, but the actual end result is always the same - clean and unexplainable.
The gimmick supplied looks and feels delicate initially, but I've been working it quite hard, and it's a lot more stable than it looks.
The quality of the explanation that comes with the routine is basic, but functional - and once you've taken a few practice stabs at the 'move', you'll be up and running in no time.
Excellent - as we've come to expect from Alakazam.

The bottom line...
A superb utility gaff which sets itself apart in it's genre. Very useable, and is resettable instantly - perfect for table hopping.
Just add a deck of cards and a rubber band!
