Stickman Sam

Postby Stephen Ward » Aug 19th, '05, 13:52

The Effect

Any card is selected from the deck and is signed by the spectator. A stickman is drawn on another card by the magician. Stickman sam now jumps off the card and on to another card. This process is repeated several times with stickman Sam jumping onto a different card each time. Effect ends with Stickman sam jumping onto the signed card. This card can be given away to the spectator.

Review

I have had this for a few days now and have been playing around with it to get the right handling for me. The first thing to say is that i found this effect very easy to perform. It can be good for children and adults and is a very good commercial walk-around trick.

In the package you get:

1. The special card
2. Instructions
3. A 15 minute DVD (region free) including performance, explanation and some handling tips and advice.

The DVD is very good and the teaching is excellent, all angles are exposed so you can see exactly what Mark is doing at all times.

You need to practise a bit to get a good confident handling of this effect but i think this is worthwhile as this is such a good trick.

Notes:

1. You will need a red Bicyle deck to perform this effect.
2. You really do draw a stickman on the card, so if you have a low budget and cannot afford to keep replacing cards then this trick may not be for you.

Overall

9/10 very good!

Great review, Stephen. I saw this trick a few weeks ago, and it's nice to see a positive review on it.

My only question though - if you actually draw the stickman, can the effect be duplicated WITHOUT the gimmick, or does the effect rely on it?

I was just curious. I haven't seen a demo of it, so I'm only going by text descriptions.

I think you really need the giimick for the full effect .. Although the effect is based on an old principle.
