Does anyone have an alternative for the flustration count part of the routine?

I hate this count and for me it's the weak point of the trick. Rather than acting as a 'convincer' to what you've just displayed, I think it acts as a 'weakner'...

Any ideas? (PM me if exposure is an issue)

what you could do instead of a flushtration count is simply turn the cards face dwn and count them into your right hand mentioning "look there really ARE only 4 cards"

Boris Wild's "Kiss Count" works well.

Not sure where you'd get hold of the instructions for it though.

I don't want to buy Jumping Gemini all over again - I have 'Darwin Ortiz At the Card Table', and I know the routine.

As I said, I'm just looking for an alternative to the Flushstration Count section because I think that the F count is weak.

Is the Boris Wild count in print somewhere?

It's not week at all. It doesn't fool a magician, but it fools laymen.

No - it's the Boris Wild "Kiss Count" video that I mean.
Above the Ortiz videos.

The Flushtration Count is the move that I get caught on, and it's not like the move requires a lot of work to perfect... It's just that many people - laymen - can see that it's the same card. And the speed of the count makes no difference either.

Like Ortiz himself says, he doesn't like the count but believes that it flies because it is merely a convincer and the primary proof has come from the previous display.

My experience is that the count gets caught and thus weakens the strength of the previous display

Re: Boris Wild Video- £22.49 is a bit pricey for a video on one count!

Is it not published in Counthesaurus or some such?

I agree what most of you guys say about the F count, but, I still want to estimate that, with the correct patter, speed and performance, this count is still great. There is a reason by both Jay Sankey, Ammar, Eason and other great magicians use it.

I'm with Rune on this one. And Papa G mentioned why it works.

It's really just a secondary convincer. Anyone who knows the effect knows the real reason why the flushtration is used at that point in the effect. It can be eliminated from the effect, but I think it works well because it REALLY cements the notion in their head. Even if it's a suspicious move to some, they are not at all prepared for the finish, which hits them like a hammer right between the eyes.

If you don't like the count, it can be eliminated. Either way, it shouldn't really diminish the impact of the effect.
