without giving to much away, does 'Smoke' require a lot of sleights and palming etc?

From what i've heard, using the Mindpower deck is quite elementary.

Smoke requires substantial preparation, but only a simple sleight or two. Oh, and you need a little extra something planted elsewhere... once you've bought the book you'll know what that means!

As for my favourite effect of his, well, um, to be honest, they're all pretty seamless and thoroughly enjoyable. I don't think I can pick a favourite.

My favourite card effect of his is "Zamiel's Rose" after seeing his performance of this on the Devil's Picturebook it encouraged me to really get into card magic :P

Other than that i loved the ending of his recent tour "Something wicked this way comes" He did say he would be touring with it again so i best not tell.

Mine too!

I think it's just a wonderful ending, and a great little story too!

Not a single trick, but I thought his seance was one of the best bits of television I have ever seen. Original, superbly made, had a narrative, edgy, builds beautifully and a nice twist in the tail.

Lots of people can do a trick or two, but very few people can construct a show where the tricks seem almost incidental to the action.

Best Overall Trick: The Newspaper Prediction in his Live Show
Best Card Trick: Smoke, without a doubt. Stephen Fry's comments were wonderful.
Best Mentalism Trick: He did a TV special of part of his new and part of his old live show and he did a route prediction and it turned out that the secret studio was in the exact place they had ended up after following the route.

went the night after :) was amazing.... went and met him afterwards backstage with about 4 others

the first person asked if he had any books or anything..... he said no!! good job i didnt take my pure effect!

My wife got him to sign a photo and he sign a playing card for me..... i handed him a sharpie and he said something about it being the magicians choice!

I think my favourite effect he does is asking people to give them their wallet, it's the kind of effect that takes it up from the level of trick to something that is completely real, yet unexplainable.

"Hodge scored for Forest after 22 seconds - totally against the run of
play" (Peter Lorenzo)

Oh, he actually does that? I was under the impression that that was with a stooge - if it's real that would be amazing!

Well at the start of the show he says "no stooges are used" or something, so unless he is a dirty liar (which he very well may be), it must be for real.

Having sucessfully done a bit of NLP myself and I assume that's the technique he uses, I can see that it would be possible.

He says in the show that it works with about 50% of people, I would disagree with that but I'm sure it would work with some.

I think reminiscence is Derren Browns best trick overall.

Cards it is Smoke.

Mentalism effect then one of the "think of a word" and he names it ones.

Also had fun with:
Mindreading Tricks
