Hello there.

I'm new to here, 16 years old and am quite s*** at this magic lark, and am hoping to learn a bit from you lot.

Pfft, i guess magic caught my eye after buying seeing Derren Brown do his thang. My dad demi-knows Derren so thats rather top notch. I've had various flirts with magic through the years but am planning to take it more seriously.

Trying to find this Derren Brown Pure Effect Book and his Video. Being a skint and hungry student, i've yet to find one for less than £20. eBay it is i guess.
I do hope this isn't frowned upon

Welcome to TalkMagic Mr Burger. I'm afraid £25 or thereabouts is the going rate for Derren's books - and the video is a whole lot harder to get hold of, and more expensive too!

Nice to see someone using full and proper English, by the way.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hello

Postby Medeiros66 » Sep 5th, '05, 18:25

Hi, everybody!
First of all, I have to apologize for my English…
I’m José Eduardo Medeiros, from Azores (portuguese islands), 38 y/o.
I’m a Biology teacher and I don’t remember the first day I was catched by this wonderful world of illusions (4-5 y/o!).
I never performed for a public beyond my family and friends… :?
But now, I intend to go ahead with it and do something in public (my friend say that I’m very good :?: ).
At this moment, I’m using, in my practices, some stuff that I bought from MagicShop:
- TTss
- IT & ITR
- Raven Reel
- 2 blue D’lites
- Several bicycle (normal, svengali, etc,) and manipulation cards
- 1 euro shell
- Floating (dancing) can
- Ballerina Hank
- A close-up pad
- A magician table (w/ servante)
- Jeff McBride´s Card Manipulation DVD´s 1-3
- Complete Card Magic - The Definitive Set Vol 1-7 (DVD’s)
- Various (about 10) and dedicated DVD´s
- 6 books (cards, cigarettes and general)
- …and some miscellaneous tricks.
On next times, I’d like to won a medium stage illusion device (a levitation one, perhaps).
I hope to learn from all of you and contribute myself with something to this big family.
BTW, which book or DVD do you recommend to improve my coins magic?

Best regards

AzorMagic
