Some kind of bug ? (In the forum)

Postby dennis » Aug 29th, '05, 18:09

Hi,

I was busy with writing a review, and actually was finished.
It took a fairly long time to write it well, and good, in my opinion it was a nice one to, but then something bad happend.

I pushed the preview button, and saw one letter I needed to add, and pushed the back button.
And then it happend, the whole text was gone, now I need to rewrite it but I can't say I'm really in the mood for it right now.

Will try again tonight.

That would happen if your session expires I think. It happened to me a few times before I set auto login on my home computer.

I always push Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C first before I click any button. Trust me, make it a habut and you will never have this problem again. (If the text is lost push Ctrl + V and everything is back)

Even better, create and edit your message in some other word processing program (Word, Publisher, or even your e-mail program) so it's completely separate from the Forum in case things go wrong. It also has the advantage that the message can be spell checked, etc and perfected before posting as the amount of text editing on the Forum is very minimal to say the least! To prevent accidental logging out/timing out, you can select the 'Remember My Password' option at start up which is fine if you only use your own computer but not so good if you use Internet Cafe, Library or other Public Access machines!

Yeah, I've gotten into the habit of this. Hell, I even test that it's copied properly before I press submit... especially if it's a huge post! =o)
